1991 - Jacques Ibarzabal and Adalbert
Bouchard confirm the presence of a raptor migration corridor over the Dunes
of Tadoussac. 1992 - The first systematic visual counts: a total of 7 000 raptors recorded. 1993 - Creation of the Parc national du Saguenay. The start of daily raptor counts over the entire migration period (i.e., August to December).1995 - The first counting and banding of migrating songbirds.1996 - The Observatoire d’oiseaux de Tadoussac, with Jacques Ibarzabal as the founding director, becomes a research branch of Explos-Nature. The first capture of Northern Saw-whet and Boreal Owls.2003 - Formation of the Scientific Committee and the Committee of Promoters, and the establishment of the Friends of the OOT Fund. Bruno Drolet takes over as director of the OOT. |
